frozen bosphorus

Apparently the Bosphorus froze on 24 February 1954, with the cold temperature and the ice blocks coming from the river Danube.

Looking at these, I noticed that I find most of the old photos beautiful. I don't know if it's the retro thing being in influensing me or if they are actually good photographs. Then I thought, at these times probably only real photographers had cameras and they actually paid attention to the pictures they took, to the lighting and composition and everything, because they were much more valuable. They couldn't just press delete and take another one.
